About the role

The work involves testing vehicles on both our internal test track and on public roads. In some cases, competitor vehicles are also included according to the same method that we test our own products. We test and give feedback to the development departments with a focus on the end customer. We act as a critical internal end customer in R&D and focus on both hardware and software as well as subjective assessments refined into deviation reports to maximize quality for our end customers.

The work is physically demanding as our core business is long-term testing where you are exposed to strong whole-body vibrations due to the fact that part of the testing involves driving on shaking obstacles. This requires that you have a good physique so that you can drive in an active driving position, which is applied to minimize strain on the body.

Your main tasks:

• Improvement work to ensure quality
• To report deviations or driver feedback in our deviation program Fras
• The work consists of driving the test vehicles that are part of our fleet, (trucks and buses)
• The driving is controlled according to different driving programs and is a combination of driving inside our internal test track and on public roads
• Perform thorough inspections to search for defect outcomes on whole vehicles and assess and express subjective impressions that are summarized in quality-assured reports

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has a great interest in heavy vehicles and who wants to be part of Scania's product development. We are in an intensive testing period in areas such as electrification and would like to welcome applicants who have experience with this type of product.

We believe that you are a meticulous, curious and driven person with at least 5 years of experience in the driver profession that you are happy to share to strengthen our future products. Your social skills are important because your contact area is broad within Scania. Some basic knowledge in data is required as we work in various database programs such as MS Office and deviation management in FRAS/Event, which is Scania's reporting system. Some of the databases or contact persons we use have English as their language and therefore it is necessary to have a certain level of English knowledge. It is also important to be able to express oneself in speech and writing, as it is part of the development of our working methods that test drivers should be able to participate in cross-functional meetings.

Meritorious qualities are of course if you have previous driver experience in several different applications and preferably of several different vehicle brands.

Driving licence qualification CE is an absolute requirement and we see the D qualification as a heavy merit

Who are we?

The group currently consists of 1 Group Manager and 18 test drivers (incl. 2 Team Leaders) who together have a very broad competence background with a mix of both former professional drivers and other positions within Scania. Our great ambition is of course to strive to match the necessary driver skills that Scania's future product range requires.

The role of test driver is conducted in 2 shifts and is a permanent employment.
