THE ROLE

Join AMD's Data Center Operations team and help support the infrastructure powering next-generation computing technologies. In this role, you will work with customers, vendors, and AMD engineering teams to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise-scale server and networking environments. This is an exciting opportunity to gain broad exposure to data center technologies, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to delivering exceptional operational and customer outcomes.

You thrive in hands-on roles, take ownership of issues from identification through resolution, and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

You possess strong troubleshooting skills, an analytical mindset, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. You are comfortable working with geographically dispersed teams and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support deployment, maintenance, and sustainment activities within customer data center environments.
  • Perform hardware break-fix activities on servers, networking equipment, and related infrastructure.
  • Assist with incident management and technical troubleshooting to maintain service availability.
  • Execute data center operational tasks including cabling, patch management, equipment replacement, configuration, and power-cycle activities.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and failure analysis activities alongside customer engineering teams.
  • Support asset management initiatives, inventory tracking, and data center floor audits.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to team members and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Assist with generating operational reports and providing updates to management regarding service performance and customer deliverables.
  • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and AMD teams to ensure successful project execution and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of server hardware and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Experience diagnosing component failures and participating in root cause analysis activities.
  • Familiarity with server management software, firmware utilities, and OEM diagnostic tools.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server environments and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with data center deployment technologies such as PXE, WDS, DHCP, and FTP.
  • Understanding of server provisioning, system imaging, and operating system deployment processes.
  • Experience supporting large-scale data center operations or enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Exposure to networking concepts, hardware installation, and structured cabling practices.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Ability and willingness to perform physical work in a data center environment, including lifting and moving server hardware when required.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
  • CompTIA Server+ certification preferred.
  • Microsoft certifications such as MCP or MCSE are desirable.
  • Additional data center, server, networking, or infrastructure-related certifications are advantageous.
