Senior OT Cybersecurity Specialist

On behalf of a partner company, Nordic Investin is looking for a Senior OT Cybersecurity Specialist. You understand that securing operational technology starts with availability, safety and the physical process the systems control.

The partner operates industrial environments that are becoming more connected. You will assess risk, improve segmentation and access, and help engineering and operations teams strengthen security without disrupting production.

Security work is expected to reduce real exposure while preserving the organisation’s ability to deliver. The strongest candidates can connect a technical weakness with a credible threat, an appropriate control and a practical path to implementation.

You will work directly with the people who design, operate and depend on the systems being protected. Recommendations must identify the threat, the affected asset and a realistic implementation path. The partner values careful evidence, proportionate controls and clear escalation when risk cannot be removed immediately.

As a senior colleague, you will own substantial outcomes and help others make stronger decisions. You are expected to recognise risk early, communicate it without drama and move work forward with practical alternatives. The role still includes hands on delivery; seniority here means broader judgement, not distance from the work.

• Assess industrial networks, assets and remote access paths.

• Develop practical segmentation and secure architecture designs.

• Guide hardening, patching and compensating control decisions.

• Support monitoring and incident readiness for OT environments.

• Translate standards into site level improvement plans.

• Work with operations, automation, IT and suppliers.

• Experience securing or engineering industrial control systems.

• Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and industrial network concepts.

• Understanding of IEC 62443, NIS2 or comparable requirements.

• Ability to assess risk in safety and availability critical settings.

• Strong network and identity security fundamentals.

• Professional English; Swedish is often valuable for site work.

• Energy, manufacturing, transport or process industry experience.

• OT incident response or threat detection.

• Industrial automation engineering background.

You may come from cybersecurity and have built strong industrial understanding, or from automation and have specialised in security. The partner values people who respect how plants operate and can earn trust on site.

The role combines strategic security work with physical environments where improvements matter. You will influence investment plans and implement controls that protect essential operations.
