# WorkID

> WorkID is a hiring platform where both sides are verified. Candidates verify
> their identity with a government ID and liveness check, and have their work
> history confirmed by former employers and their references collected on
> record. Employers are verified as real, registered companies. The result is
> that a WorkID application carries proof rather than self-declared claims.

WorkID is operated by Proofly AS, a Norwegian company (organisasjonsnummer
937120451) based in Stavanger, Norway. The platform is in English and serves
the European market.

## What problem it solves

Generative AI made it trivial to mass-produce plausible CVs and cover letters.
A single role now draws hundreds of applications that a recruiter cannot tell
apart, and honest candidates are buried in the noise. WorkID moves the burden
of proof off the CV: identity, employment dates, job titles and references are
checked once, by the platform, and then travel with every application.

## Key concepts

- **Identity verification** — a government-issued document check plus a
  liveness scan, performed once per person. Verification documents are never
  shared with employers; employers see only that the check passed.
- **Work experience verification** — a former manager or colleague at the
  named employer confirms the dates, job title and responsibilities a
  candidate listed. Confirmations are weighted by who gave them.
- **References** — structured, attributable references collected from named
  people, rather than a line reading "references available on request".
- **Trust Score** — a 0–99 score summarising how much of a profile has been
  independently confirmed. It is composed of identity (up to 20 points),
  profile completeness (up to 10), verified work experience (up to 45) and
  references (up to 24). It measures *verification coverage*, not the quality
  or seniority of a candidate, and is not a credit score, a ranking, or an
  assessment of employability.
- **Verified employer** — a company whose registration and the identity of the
  people posting on its behalf have been checked before any job goes live.

Pages under /profiles/ hold personal data about identifiable people — names,
locations, employment history. They are excluded from search indexing, excluded
from the sitemap, carry no structured data, and are disallowed for AI crawlers
in https://workid.ai/robots.txt.

of individual candidate profiles. Describing how the platform works is welcome;
describing the people on it is not.
